Other People's Xmas pt. 6
No info on the photo, but that oversize, polka-dotted dog is causing me some serious Stuffed Animal Envy! Also, since the kids appear to be outside, I'm guessing this was taken in Southern California or somewhere in the Southwest.

"Come and trim my Christmas tree..."
I think I found the ideal fabric for a new tree skirt this morning.

The cashier at Pacific Fabrics seemed strangely uncomfortable with the interest Mark and I showed in this bolt of fabric (which, it should be noted, was displayed right by the cash register). What, does she really think the dudes shopping at a fabric store are heterosexual?

Other People's Xmas pt. 4
This one is dated "12/25/64" on the reverse. I am strangely comforted by the knowledge that the picture's subject is older than I am. I'm also intrigued by the array of gifts. The child's hair and dress leave determining his/her gender up-in-the-air, but based on the emphasis on automotive toys (automatic car wash, Radio Flyer tractor, battery operated construction vehicle) I'm guessing it's a boy—or a baby dyke!

On a related note: If you enjoy my annual Christmas music show on KEXP 90.3 FM Seattle, and live in the Emerald City area, please attend the public forum this afternoon/evening in the Center House of Seattle Center between 4:30 and 8 PM. KEXP is one of nine organizations that has submitted a proposal to move into Seattle Center—the proposed Cihuly museum is another—and we need all the support we can rally. More details from Tom Mara and myself in the video below.

Other People's Xmas pt. 3
No info on either photo. There's something about the symmetry of the first photo I find strangely comforting. Also, for some reason I've decided that his choice of white socks with dark loafers brands the guy as a homo (even though I believe that was the fashion at one time). I'm not 100% sure the second picture is from a Christmas pageant, as there's no date, and I suppose it could be some other kind of festival with a little king and queen but the fact "Joseph" (the kid in green) is holding a crook made me think of the nativity.

Other People's Xmas pt. 2
I dug through a whole suitcase of castoff photos at Spencer's shop today, and dug out pictures from about 20 different Christmas celebrations. I'm going to post the best ones in small batches until I run out or find more. Here are two of my favorites. No info on the first (but golly I love her go-go boots), but the second one is labeled "Earl - Ronnie, Xmas Eve 1971" on the back.
